Arts on King Gallery
February 22 to March 22, 2001
Diversity is an inherent part of the current art and design culture. Challenging the widely accepted view that the design professions are singular and isolated, the Pro-fusion exhibit presents a diverse body of work that contributes to a more pluralistic, interactive understanding of design.
In their unique individual manifestations, the works of the designers and artists participating in the Pro-fusion exhibit are more than the artistic manipulation of the tools of their own professions. These works are fueled by commitment to provocative thought and action that cross over into other domains. This exchange and transparency between art, architecture, city planning, graphic design, film, industrial design, interior design, new media and photography deserve to have more visibility in our cultural, social and political networks. By displaying the diversity of these authors' interests, Pro-fusion positively reflects upon this multiplicity in design practice and further emphasizes the links between built works, and theoretical projects.
